After enjoying the buzz of Kilkenny’s pubs, restaurants and nightlife, retreat to one of our six quiet en-suite rooms tucked away upstairs. Each room includes TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, and best of all, your own secret staircase leading straight back to one of the city’s most popular public houses.

Have stayed here a few times and will always recommend to everyone. My family are from Kilkenny and I’d still stay here over their houses when I visit! It wouldn’t be the same otherwise. Friendliest staff, lovely food and great atmosphere to have a drink in. Stayed in a couple of different rooms and they’re all great.

Cycled down from Dublin to this lovely city and stayed in Billy Byrnes for 2 nights. We were given a very secure part of the beer garden for our bikes and never once did we feel nervous about them. Staff were lovely and friendly, there’s a real family run feel to the place. We were there mid-week but I get the impression this would be a fun bar for a night out. Beds were OK, softer than I’m used to but we were so tired so it didn’t affect our stay. Would stay here again.
